From the 24th until the 26th of August, an international children’s and youth basketball tournament “Bertans Valmiera Summer Cup 2023” will take place in Valmiera, Latvia, and will bring together participants in four boys’ age groups from all three Baltic countries. This year, a total of 34 youth teams will participate in the tournament, which will test their strength before the upcoming youth national league competitions.
The “Bertans Valmiera Summer Cup 2023” tournament will take place in the biggest sports halls in Valmiera – Valmiera Olympic Center, as well as Valmiera Viesturs Secondary School and Valmiera 5th Secondary School. In each age division, playoffs will occur between eight teams, fighting in subgroups on the first days of the games, and the tournament winners will be determined by playing according to the playoff schedule. For the convenience of the participants, the organizers of the tournament offer various types of accommodation and catering. In addition to the tournament, participants will have the opportunity to participate in the tournament’s contests and take advantage of opportunities to get to know the city of Valmiera.

The international children’s and youth basketball tournament “Bertans Valmiera Summer Cup” is supported by the Valmiera City Council, the Bertans Valmiera basketball school, Valmiera Glass VIA, “AIMASA”, “HESBURGER”, Prizes for the participants of the tournament will be provided by – “Graci”, “SportaBode”, “Tymbark”, “Everest”, “Saules Klingeris”. The moment of the game will be captured by professional photographer Emils Vanags.
