We want to invite international teams to participate in youth basketball tournament „Valmiera Summer Cup 2020” that will take place in Valmiera, Latvia from August 24th -29th. Despite current situation in the world associated with COVID-19 restrictions there is already allowance to prepare for bigger sports events in Latvia and organizers are preparing for the sixth Valmiera Summer Cup tournament.
Valmiera Summer Cup is youth basketball tournament organized in pre-season time for boy and girl groups in two stages. First “Valmiera Summer Cup 2020” stage will be held from 24th – 26th August for girl and boy groups (girls born in 2006, 2008 and boys born in 2009, 2010), second tournament stage will be organized for boy groups, born in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and will be held from 27th – 29th August. As the main tournament venue serves the biggest sports centre in Valmiera – Vidzeme Olympic Centre, but tournament is held in three different sports halls.
Each tournament age group is assembled of 8 teams, guaranteeing each team to play 5 games in the tournament. Participating teams are welcomed from Baltic states and other neighbouring countries, Scandinavia.
“Valmiera Summer Cup” is tournament for youngsters organized in pre-season time to get ready for new season. It is a great opportunity to test your team progress made in summer camps and trainings. “Valmiera Summer Cup” organizers provide three days full of basketball, fun season preparation games and different level of experience and skills on tournament courts. This year the tournament organizers are aiming to take tournament to the next level and will offer more extras for coaches and kids to get more fun, get different experiences and exploring Valmiera city. For successful hosting of the tournament the organizers provide a variety of accommodation options and catering for participants as well different extras to enjoy free time n Valmiera.
