From 21 to 26 August, Valmiera will once again become a meeting point for youth basketball as “Bertans Valmiera Summer Cup 2026” returns for its 11th edition. Over six days, young players in five age groups, born in 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014 and 2012, will compete, develop their skills and gain valuable international experience.
Games will take place at three venues – Valmiera Olympic Centre, Valmiera Viesturi High School and Valmiera 5th High School
Follow the tournament action with “Hesburger LIVE”, games will be streamed live on the Bertans Valmiera Summer Cup YouTube channel throughout the tournament.
The tournament is organised in accordance with FIBA basketball rules, providing young athletes with a high-quality competitive environment and the opportunity to test themselves against teams from different basketball schools and countries.
More than basketball
The programme will also feature the Hesburger Skill Challenge, where players can showcase their speed, accuracy, agility and individual basketball skills.
Coaches will get their chance to compete too! The Sporta Bode Coaches’ Challenge will put their skills to the test and determine the tournament’s top coach.
Away from the court, participants will have the opportunity to discover Valmiera and enjoy activities together with their teams:
- 3D CINEMA – relax after the games and enjoy one of the latest films together.
- Park of Senses– Trail in the Trees – combine adventure, active recreation and team bonding.
- Valmiera Swimming pool Recreation Area – recharge and relax between games or after a busy tournament day.
Teams will also have the opportunity to capture their tournament memories during special team photo sessions with professional photographer Emīls Vanags.
Throughout the tournament, Valmieras ūdens will provide high-quality drinking water to help players stay refreshed and hydrated during the busy competition days.
