From August 26th until August 31st, 2024, the international youth basketball tournament “Bertans Valmiera Summer Cup” will take place in Valmiera, Latvia. The tournament organizers and representatives of the Bertans Valmiera Basketball School invite youth basketball coaches to register boys’ teams in the following age groups: 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, and 2010.
This year’s tournament will be divided into 2 stages, with 6 boys’ age groups and 10 teams in each age group.
Stage 1: August 26th – August 28th, 2024
Age groups: 2015, 2014, 2013.
Stage 2: August 29th – August 31st, 2024
Age groups: 2012, 2011, 2010.
The international youth basketball tournament “Bertans Valmiera Summer Cup” is organized according to the FIBA-approved basketball rules and aims to provide young players with a place to showcase their talents, compete with teams from Latvia and abroad, and promote cultural exchange and friendship through sport.
“This year marks the 9th “Bertans Valmiera Summer Cup” tournament, and we are currently working to host boys’ basketball teams from several countries around the world at the end of the summer in Valmiera. This tournament is and will continue to be not only about healthy competition and winning the championship title in each age group, but also about bringing together young athletes to share exciting games and creating lasting memories and experiences before the new basketball season,” said Sandis Bukss, organizer of the “Bertans Valmiera Summer Cup”.
In addition to exciting games in 3 sports halls, tournament participants and supporters will be able to experience Valmiera’s culture and hospitality, known for its historical charm and scenic surroundings. During the tournament, there will be Skill Challenge competitions, giving participants the opportunity to showcase their individual professional skills.
Team coaches interested in participating in the “Bertans Valmiera Summer Cup” are encouraged to submit their applications promptly to secure a spot in the tournament. The application form and regulations are available on the tournament website.
The tournament is organized by the Valmiera Summer Cup Association in cooperation with the Bertans Valmiera Basketball School.
