From the 26th until the 31st of August, an international youth basketball tournament “Bertans Valmiera Summer Cup 2024” will take place in Valmiera, Latvia, and will bring together participants in six boys’ age groups from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Finland.
The “Bertans Valmiera Summer Cup 2024” tournament will take place in the biggest sports halls in Valmiera – Valmiera Olympic Center, Valmiera Viesturs High School and Valmiera 5th High School. The tournament organizers offer various types of catering and accommodation for the participants, as well as the chance to partake in the tournament’s contests, such as the “Hesburger” Skill Challenge” and enjoy a multitude of fun activities all around the city of Valmiera. This year’s tournament will be divided into two stages with three age groups in each.
In STAGE 1 boys’ teams from 3 different age divisions will compete for the champion title:
In the 2013 age division “BS Keizars/Riga”, “DSN Riga”, “Rujiena SS”, “Bertanu Valmiera BS”, “Madonas BJSS” and “Salaspils SS” will represent Latvia, as for Estonia – “Rapla KK”, “Tartu Ulikool”.
In the 2014 boys’ group Latvia will be represented by “DSN Riga 1”, “DSN Riga 2”, “Basketbola Klase”, “Gulbenes BJSS”, “Cesis PSS”, “Bertanu Valmiera BS”, “Madonas BJSS” and “Salaspils SS”, Estonia will be represented by “Tartu Ulikool”, “Taltech/Altus”.
In the 2015 age group Latvian teams include “Bertanu Valmiera BS”, “Madonas BJSS”, “DSN Riga”, “Salaspils SS”, “Cesis PSS”, and “Vilniaus krepsinis” will represent Lithuania
STAGE 1 of this year’s tournament will take place from the 26th until the 28th of August.
In STAGE 2 we will be able to see boys’ teams from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 age categories.
The 2010 age group will be represented by Latvia – “Bertanu Valmiera BS 1”, “Bertanu Valmiera BS 2”, “Rezeknes BJSS”, “Madonas BJSS”, “RBS Centrs/Vilku Banda 1”, “RBS Centrs/Vilku Banda 2” and “East-Ball OKTDP”, Estonia – “Rapla BS”, “University of Tartu BS” and Finland – “PuHu Junior”.
The 2011 age group will be represented by all of the four participating countries. Latvian teams include “Bertanu Valmiera BS”, “East-Ball OKTDP”, “DSN Riga”, “RBS Centrs/Vilku Banda”, “SK Ezerzeme/Rezekne”, Estonian – “Kesklinna KK/KK Viimsi U14”, “TSA” and “University of Tartu BS”. Lithuania will be represented by “Palangos SC” and Finland – “PuHu Juniori”.
In the 2012 boys’ group we will see teams such as “BS Zemgale”, “Gulbenes BJSS”, “DSN Riga”, “Siguldas SS”, “Kandavas BJSS”, “Bertanu Valmiera BS” and “Kraslavas SS” from Latvia, “TalTech/BS” and “University of Tartu BS” from Estonia and “PuHu Juniors” from Finland
STAGE 2 will take place from the 29th until the 31st of August.
